The Royal Navy’s Director of Drive Era has formally opened a brand new hangar at Predannack Airfield in Cornwall, which is being developed because the Nationwide Drone Hub.
Rear Admiral Anthony Rimington was invited to the airfield on the Lizard Peninsula final week to open the hangar operated by firm WholeShip. He’s pictured with firm director Dan Stembridge.
Additionally pictured is the commanding officer of Royal Naval Air Station Culdrose Captain James Corridor alongside members of the navy’s drone unit 700X Naval Air Squadron, WholeShip workers, the pinnacle of strategic partnerships at Cornwall Area Cluster Gail Eastaugh, and contractors whose corporations helped construct the brand new hangar.
Predannack Airfield is owned and operated by RNAS Culdrose at Helston and 700X NAS routinely use the location to check drones.
The Nationwide Drone Hub is an overarching identify for all of the organisations concerned in increasing Predannack. WholeShip is creating the location as a centre of experience in drone expertise.
It has protected airspace away from the helicopters at close by RNAS Culdrose and entry to the army train areas off the south coast.
