Now every of them walks as a residing citadel of religion. Their jaws, torn vast to the ears, usually are not for speech however for psalms sung by shattered skulls. Each breath is a prayer of forgiveness, each exhale an anathema to the unconverted.

When not firing, they sing. When not singing, they pray. And after they do neither — they gnaw, indiscriminately, whether or not on sinner or saint.
